About This Service

When your AC stops blowing cold, it's almost never just "low refrigerant." Refrigerant doesn't get used up — if the system is low, there's a leak somewhere. Just recharging without finding the leak is a guaranteed comeback in a few weeks or months, plus you've vented refrigerant into the atmosphere illegally.

We do real AC diagnostics: pressure testing, performance measurement, electronic and UV-dye leak detection, electrical testing on compressors and clutches, and blend door testing. Then we repair the actual cause — whether it's a leaking evaporator, a failing compressor, a stuck blend door, or an electrical fault — before recharging the system to manufacturer spec.

We service all modern AC systems, including the newer R-1234yf refrigerant systems found in most 2015-and-newer vehicles, which require completely different equipment than older R-134a systems.

Our Vehicle AC Repair Process

  1. 01

    Performance Test

We measure vent temperature, system pressure, and listen for compressor engagement.

  2. 02

    Leak Detection

UV dye or electronic detection isolates exactly where refrigerant is escaping.

  3. 03

    Repair the Cause

We fix the root cause first — recharging without repair is a guaranteed comeback.

  4. 04

    Evacuate & Recharge

Proper vacuum, dye-free recharge to manufacturer specs, and a final cold-air verification.

Common Warning Signs

  • AC blows warm or only mildly cool air
  • Weak airflow from vents
  • Strange smell when AC is on (mold or burning)
  • Loud noise from AC compressor
  • AC works intermittently or only at high speed
  • Foggy or wet floor (heater core leak)

Why Choose Grizzly

Find the Leak First

We diagnose and fix the cause before recharging — so the system actually holds and works for years.

R-1234yf Equipped

We have the equipment and refrigerant for newer R-1234yf systems most shops still can't service.

Free Performance Test

Visual inspection and vent-temperature test always free — only pay if repair is needed.

EPA-Certified Service

Refrigerant handled per federal regulations — no venting, proper recovery, no environmental fines for you.

What Sets Our Vehicle AC Repair Apart

We Don't Just Recharge

Other shops top off and send you out — we find the leak so the fix actually lasts a season or more.

R-1234yf Equipment

Newer refrigerant requires dedicated equipment and certification most shops haven't invested in. We have.

Climate Control Electrical

Blend door actuators, climate modules, and AC clutch wiring — we diagnose the electrical side, not just the refrigerant side.

Vehicle AC Repair FAQs

Why won't a recharge alone fix my AC?+

Refrigerant doesn't get used up — if it's low, there's a leak. We find and fix the leak so the recharge actually lasts.

Do you service R-1234yf systems?+

Yes — we have the dedicated equipment and refrigerant for R-1234yf systems found on most 2015+ vehicles. Many shops still can't.

How long does an AC repair take?+

Most diagnostics and recharges are same-day. Compressor or evaporator replacement may take 1–2 days depending on parts and labor access.

Why is there a smell when I turn on the AC?+

Usually mildew on the evaporator from moisture buildup. We can clean and treat the system, plus replace the cabin air filter, to get rid of the smell.

Can I just buy a recharge can at the parts store?+

We strongly recommend against it — those cans often contain stop-leak that can damage your compressor and contaminate the system, making proper repair much more expensive later.
